It’s harder to become a Day Trader than a Surgeon
Any surgeon reading this would probably argue with this statement. But since I expect very few surgeons to read this blog, I feel relatively safe from flaming.
Suppose a young person wants to become a surgeon. Based on 5 minutes of research, here are the steps to follow:
Go to a good college and major in Biology or a related subject. Get good grades. Apply for a good medical school. Go to medical school for 4 years. Pay attention and don't cut too many classes. Apply for an internship at a good hospital. Work at the internship for a year or so. Try not to kill too many patients. Apply for a surgical residency at a good hospital. Work at the surgical residency for 4 years. Remember to sew all the patients back up. Pass a few tests. Voila! You're a surgeon!
Now, how do you become a Day Trader? There are no steps to follow.
Lacking prescribed steps, here's how a lot of newbies try to become Day Traders:
Read a few articles on Day Trading. Open a Trading account with Scottrade. Deposit a fair amount of money into the account. Pick up the mouse and start trading. Lose a lot of money. Realize it ain't so easy. Buy an expensive Day Trading course. Lose lot's more money.
So how does a newbie become a Day Trader? The purpose of this blog is to try to illuminate the path. But it's gonna be Tuff. There won't be simple steps like becoming a surgeon.

Welcome to the April 22, 2008 edition of Carnival of Everything Finance. We had over 110 really good articles submitted for this edition. Unfortunately I could not include all of them. I hope you enjoy reading these articles.

Agree with your points. I am a day trader myself, I am still learning to take money out from market. Happy learning together.

Sounds like the kind of blog I have been looking for. This sums up my experience rather painfully.
I studied trading, joined a day trading mastermind group. Lost some money.
Now I want to learn as much as I can before I jump back in. But seeing as there are only a few posts on this blog I may not get what I want
